Amazon ElastiCache has introduced version 8.0 for Valkey, bringing significant performance and efficiency improvements:
- ElastiCache Serverless now scales to 5 million requests per second, up to 5x faster than version 7.2
- Node-based ElastiCache offers improved memory efficiency, using 32 bytes less memory per key
- Valkey is an open-source key-value datastore backed by over 40 companies
- Upgrade can be done in a few clicks without downtime across all AWS regions
- Supports migration from ElastiCache version 7.2 or Redis OSS
