AWS License Manager integration with Red Hat Subscription Manager

IBM and Red Hat Blog

AWS has announced a new integration between AWS License Manager and Red Hat Subscription Manager (RHSM) that helps customers manage their Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) subscriptions on AWS more effectively.

  • Allows customers to discover and track RHEL instances across AWS accounts and regions
  • Helps identify potential double-billing scenarios through "Duplicate subscription" alerts
  • Enables setting Amazon CloudWatch alarms for subscription usage monitoring
  • Supports both Pay-as-you-go and Bring Your Own Subscription (BYOS) RHEL instances
  • Requires setup using Red Hat offline access token stored in AWS Secrets Manager

This integration provides customers with a comprehensive view of their RHEL licensing, helping to optimize costs and ensure subscription compliance across their AWS infrastructure.
