AWS License Manager now supports shared AWS Managed Active Directory

News

AWS License Manager now supports shared AWS Managed Active Directory across multiple AWS accounts, offering significant improvements in Microsoft license management:

  • Centralize user subscriptions for Microsoft Office, Visual Studio, and Remote Desktop Service
  • Eliminate the need to set up separate Managed Active Directory instances for each AWS account
  • Reduce duplicate directories and IT overhead
  • Manage licenses through a single admin account
  • Enable users to subscribe once and extend subscriptions across directory consumer accounts

The feature is available in all commercial regions where License Manager user subscription is supported. Customers can onboard their shared AWS Managed Active Directory through the AWS License Manager console.
