AWS Cloud WAN now supports native integration with AWS Direct Connect, streamlining connectivity between on-premises networks and the AWS cloud.
- Direct Connect gateways can now attach directly to Cloud WAN without needing an intermediate Transit Gateway
- Enables seamless connectivity between data centers/offices and AWS Virtual Private Clouds across global regions
- Supports automatic route propagation using Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
- Maintains existing Cloud WAN features like central policy-based management and tag-based attachment automation
- Initially available in eleven commercial regions with standard attachment pricing
This enhancement simplifies global hybrid network connectivity by reducing infrastructure complexity for AWS customers.
