AWS has announced an enhanced Pricing Calculator in public preview within the AWS Billing and Cost Management Console, offering improved cost estimation capabilities for AWS workloads.
- Users can now log in and import historical AWS usage into cost estimates
- Two new estimation types are available:
- Workload estimate: Model cost impacts for specific applications
- Bill estimate: Generate comprehensive cost projections including discounts
- Supports importing existing usage and incorporating applicable discounts
- Allows saving and sharing cost estimates directly in the AWS account
- Can model scenarios like workload migrations, new service additions, and commitment purchases
The new Pricing Calculator aims to increase confidence in cloud cost planning and help organizations make more informed business decisions about AWS usage.
