Penn State developed Penn State Go, an all-in-one mobile app for students, using Modo Labs' development platform on AWS. The app provides seamless access to campus resources and services.
- Built in two months using AWS services like EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, and Route 53
- Successfully launched in January 2020, quickly adapting to COVID-19 communication needs
- Serves 90,000 students across 23 campuses
- 332,000 total downloads with 119 million user interactions
- 85% of students use the app at least once a week
The app offers personalized features like class registration, campus maps, event calendars, shuttle tracking, and food ordering. Modo Labs continues to innovate, planning AI-powered features using Amazon Bedrock and Rekognition.
