Amazon Web Services has launched an integrated analytics experience between Amazon CloudWatch and Amazon OpenSearch Service, offering enhanced log analysis capabilities.
- CloudWatch Logs customers can now use SQL and Piped Processing Language (PPL) for log analytics
- Out-of-the-box curated dashboards available for VPC, CloudTrail, and WAF logs
- SQL features include JOIN operations, sub-queries, and various functions
- OpenSearch customers can now analyze CloudWatch logs directly without ETL pipelines
- Available in select regions with specific pricing considerations
This integration simplifies log analysis, provides more query options, and reduces data duplication for AWS customers.
