AWS DMS Schema Conversion now uses generative AI

AWS has launched Database Migration Service (DMS) Schema Conversion with generative AI, a new feature designed to simplify and accelerate database migration projects.
- Enables conversion of database schemas from commercial engines like Microsoft SQL Server to Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL and Amazon RDS PostgreSQL
- Uses generative AI to convert up to 90% of schema automatically, especially for complex code objects like stored procedures, functions, and triggers
- Currently available in three AWS Regions: US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), and Europe (Frankfurt)
- Can be accessed through AWS Management Console or AWS CLI
- Allows users to enable generative AI during schema conversion process
The feature aims to reduce manual effort in database migration by leveraging AI-powered conversion technologies.
