AWS has announced the general availability of Amazon EC2 I8g instances, a new storage-optimized instance type featuring AWS Graviton4 processors and third-generation AWS Nitro SSDs.
- Offers up to 22.5 TB local NVME SSD storage
- 65% better real-time storage performance per TB compared to previous I4g instances
- 60% lower latency variability
- Supports up to 96 vCPUs and 768 GiB of memory
- Ideal for databases, real-time analytics, and I/O intensive workloads
- Available in US East (N. Virginia) and US West (Oregon) regions
The new instances leverage AWS Graviton4 processors for improved compute performance and enhanced security, providing customers with high-performance storage solutions.
