Amazon Web Services has launched the new Amazon EC2 I7i high performance Storage Optimized instances with significant improvements over the previous generation.
- Powered by 3rd generation AWS Nitro SSDs with up to 45TB NVMe storage
- Up to 50% better real-time storage performance and lower I/O latency
- Uses 5th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with 3.2 GHz all-core turbo frequency
- Provides up to 23% better compute performance compared to I4i instances
- Ideal for databases, real-time analytics, AI/ML pre-processing, and search engines
- Available in 11 sizes, including nine virtual and two bare metal options
- Supports up to 100Gbps network bandwidth
- Currently available in US East and US West regions
The new I7i instances offer enhanced storage performance and compute capabilities for I/O intensive and latency-sensitive workloads.
