Amazon CloudWatch adds network performance monitoring for AWS workloads using flow monitors

Amazon CloudWatch has introduced Network Performance Monitoring, a new feature that enables comprehensive network performance tracking for AWS workloads using flow monitors.

  • Provides near real-time visibility of network performance between compute instances and AWS services
  • Offers TCP-based performance metrics for packet loss and latency
  • Helps identify root causes of network-related performance issues
  • Consolidates CloudWatch Internet Monitor, Network Monitor, and flow monitors into a single service
  • Supports three types of monitoring: flow monitors, synthetic monitors, and internet monitors

The new feature allows proactive monitoring of network health and can provide detailed information to AWS Support for faster troubleshooting.
