Amazon CloudWatch Container Insights has launched enhanced observability for Amazon ECS, offering detailed metrics from cluster to container levels to improve troubleshooting and problem isolation.
- Enables visual drilling across container layers to identify issues like memory leaks
- Allows sorting clusters, services, tasks, and containers by resource consumption
- Provides a new landing page to understand cluster health and performance across multiple accounts
- Can be enabled through ECS console, AWS CLI, CloudFormation, and CDK
- Supports collecting EC2 instance-level metrics via CloudWatch agent
- Available in all public AWS Regions, including GovCloud and China regions
The enhancement aims to help customers proactively identify and mitigate performance issues before they impact end-user experience.
