New Amazon Q Developer agent capabilities include generating documentation, code reviews, and unit tests

AWS has announced new capabilities for Amazon Q Developer, a generative AI-powered assistant for software development:

  • Enhanced documentation generation using the `/doc` command
  • Automated code reviews using the `/review` command to detect quality and security issues
  • Automatic unit test generation using the `/test` command
  • Available across multiple IDEs like Visual Studio, VS Code, JetBrains, and Eclipse
  • Supports Free and Pro tiers with AWS Builder ID or IAM Identity Center authentication

These new agents aim to improve developer productivity by automating documentation, code review, and testing processes across the software development lifecycle.
