Amazon has added Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL as a quick create vector store in Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases, simplifying vector database setup for generative AI applications.

  • Developers can deploy an Aurora Serverless cluster with pgvector in minutes using a one-click option
  • Aurora Serverless provides automatic, on-demand scaling based on application demand
  • Enables Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) by converting data into embeddings for similarity search
  • Quick create option available in multiple AWS regions (excluding AWS GovCloud US-West)
  • Combines high-performance database capabilities with open-source database simplicity
