AWS has announced the general availability of two new Amazon EC2 High Memory U7i instances with unprecedented memory capacities:

  • U7i-6tb and U7i-8tb instances feature 6TiB and 8TiB of memory respectively
  • Powered by 4th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with 448 vCPUs
  • Offers up to 35% better performance and 15% better price performance compared to previous U-1 instances
  • Built on AWS Nitro system for optimized compute and memory resource allocation
  • Ideal for large in-memory databases like SAP HANA, Oracle, and SQL Server
  • SAP-certified for various HANA production environments

Available in US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), and Asia Pacific (Seoul) regions with On Demand and Savings Plan options.
