  • New parameters include BLOCKSIZE, MAXTRANSFERSIZE, and BUFFERCOUNT
  • Allows fine-tuning of backup and restore processes for improved performance
  • Useful for optimizing backup operations for databases with unique characteristics
  • Available across all AWS commercial Regions, including AWS GovCloud (US)
  • Can be applied to rds_backup_database, rds_restore_database, and rds_restore_log stored procedures

The update provides database administrators more granular control over backup and restore operations, helping to optimize performance and accommodate specific database requirements.
