Introducing Cross-Region Connectivity for AWS PrivateLink

Networking & Content Delivery Blog

AWS has introduced cross-region connectivity for AWS PrivateLink, allowing service providers to share and access VPC endpoint services across different regions securely and simply.

  • Enables sharing services privately across global regions without additional infrastructure
  • Provides robust security controls like opt-in permissions and region restrictions
  • Supports Network Load Balancer (NLB) based services across regions
  • Allows consumers to create interface endpoints in remote regions without AZ alignment
  • Offers granular access controls through IAM policies

This feature simplifies global service connectivity by eliminating the need for complex inter-region network peering and allowing providers to offer SaaS solutions to a global audience from a single region.
