Aligning cloud adoption with business outcomes, organizational capabilities, and governance through a CCoE

This article discusses how a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) can help organizations navigate cloud adoption through three critical nontechnical perspectives of the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework (AWS CAF):

• Business Perspective: Focus on strategic alignment, defining business outcomes, establishing partnerships, and managing cloud portfolio
• Organizational Perspective: Secure executive sponsorship, build core teams, define roles, and foster cloud adoption culture
• Governance Perspective: Implement cloud financial management, develop project management processes, design account structures, and manage application portfolios

The article recommends a "crawl, walk, run" approach that allows organizations to incrementally adopt cloud technologies by:

• Crawl: Establish basic processes and initial core team
• Walk: Implement service catalogs and automate key processes
• Run: Create multifunctional DevOps teams and advanced monitoring capabilities

The goal is to transform cloud adoption from a purely technical initiative into a strategic, enterprise-wide transformation that delivers tangible value.
