Amazon ECR expands registry policy to all ECR actions

News

Amazon Elastic Container Registry (ECR) has announced registry policy v2, expanding IAM permission management across all ECR actions.

  • Previously, registry policy v1 supported only three specific actions
  • New v2 supports every ECR action at the registry level
  • Enables more comprehensive permission control across repositories
  • Improves security posture and reduces configuration complexity
  • Available in all AWS commercial regions

The update allows customers to more easily manage ECR permissions at the account level, simplifying access control and reducing administrative overhead.
