AWS Elastic Beanstalk adds additional Spot allocation strategies

News

AWS Elastic Beanstalk has introduced three new Spot instance allocation strategies to provide more flexibility and cost optimization for users:

  • Capacity-optimized-prioritized: Allows users to prioritize specific instance types while focusing on available capacity
  • Lowest-price: Requests Spot Instances from the lowest-priced pools to maximize cost savings
  • Price-capacity-optimized: Balances price and capacity availability

These new strategies are available in commercial regions and AWS GovCloud (US) Regions, providing users with more control over their Spot instance allocation and potential cost savings when deploying and managing applications on Elastic Beanstalk.
