Use a DAO to govern LLM training data, Part 2: The smart contract

Blog

This article is Part 2 of a series exploring how to use a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) to govern Large Language Model (LLM) training data. The focus is on developing and deploying an Ethereum smart contract using Remix and MetaMask.

  • Created a smart contract that maps Ethereum accounts to IPFS Content Identifiers (CIDs)
  • Used OpenZeppelin's Ownable module to control contract function access
  • Deployed the contract on the Sepolia Ethereum testnet
  • Added an Ethereum Yellow Paper PDF to IPFS as a training data reference
  • Demonstrated how to add a new training data reference to the smart contract

The solution enables decentralized governance of AI training data by leveraging blockchain and IPFS technologies, with future parts of the series exploring further implementation details.
