Amazon CloudWatch has expanded its metric data evaluation and alarming capabilities, now allowing customers to assess metrics data up to 7 days old, a significant increase from the previous 24-hour limit.

  • Enables monitoring of longer-running or infrequent processes
  • Supports tracking day-over-day performance trends
  • Available in all AWS Regions, including AWS GovCloud (US)
  • Requires setting a period of at least 1 hour when creating alarms
  • Can be configured through CloudWatch console or CLI
