AWS has announced the general availability of Amazon S3 Metadata, a new service that provides automated and easily queried metadata for S3 objects.
- Automatically captures and updates object metadata in near real-time
- Supports both system-defined and custom metadata tagging
- Stores metadata in Amazon S3 Tables with read-only access
- Integrates with AWS Glue Data Catalog and analytics services like Athena and QuickSight
- Includes integration with Amazon Bedrock for AI-generated content metadata
- Available in US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), and US West (Oregon) regions
S3 Metadata simplifies data discovery, business analytics, and real-time inference by providing easily accessible and up-to-date object information.
