AWS CodeBuild announces support for project ARN and build ARN IAM condition keys

News

AWS CodeBuild has introduced support for two new IAM condition keys: codebuild:projectArn and codebuild:buildArn, which enable more granular security controls for API calls originating from builds.

  • New condition keys automatically added to request context for all AWS API calls within builds
  • Allows administrators to create conditional IAM policies restricting API access based on project or build ARNs
  • Enables implementing advanced security controls for build-originated API calls
  • Feature is available in all regions where CodeBuild is offered

These new condition keys provide enhanced security and permission management by allowing precise control over API access based on the specific CodeBuild project or build context.
