  • Hybrid Logical Clocks (HLC) mechanism now uses Amazon Time Sync Service's precision time
  • Reduces transaction latency by up to 3x
  • Improves database throughput by up to 2x
  • Minimizes clock skew across distributed nodes
  • Enables more efficient event ordering and transaction processing

By leveraging AWS Nitro System's PTP Hardware Clocks, YugabyteDB can now offer more accurate and performant distributed database solutions for mission-critical workloads across industries like fintech, retail, and media.
