Dynamically reconfigure your AWS Outposts capacity using Capacity Tasks

AWS Outposts now supports self-service capacity management, allowing users to dynamically reconfigure compute capacity on their on-premises infrastructure. Key features include:

  • New console views for viewing instance and rack capacity configurations
  • Ability to create capacity tasks to modify instance sizes and quantities
  • Options to run capacity tasks once or periodically over 48 hours
  • Auto-balance feature to automatically adjust instance quantities
  • Capability to export current configuration as JSON
  • New AWS CLI and API commands for capacity management

This update provides greater flexibility and visibility for managing AWS Outposts compute resources, enabling users to easily adapt to changing workload requirements.
