AWS has introduced asset-level capacity management for AWS Outposts, allowing customers to have more granular control over EC2 instance configuration and allocation.

  • Supports self-service capacity management for individual Outposts assets (servers or racks)
  • Enables customers to customize and fine-tune application capacity needs
  • Allows viewing and modifying EC2 instance configurations through UI and API
  • Customers can define EC2 instance configurations during Outposts order placement
  • Available in all AWS Regions that support Outposts

This enhancement provides more flexibility for businesses using AWS Outposts, helping them manage on-premises infrastructure with greater precision and control.
