AWS CodePipeline introduces CodeBuild and Commands rule for stage level condition

News

AWS CodePipeline introduces two new stage-level condition rules to enhance deployment flexibility and safety:

  • CodeBuild rule: Allows starting a CodeBuild build during pipeline execution
  • Commands rule: Enables running shell commands at different stage execution points
  • Can run integration tests after deployment completion
  • Supports automatic rollback or deployment failure if tests fail
  • Enables custom cleanup scripts when stage execution fails

These new rules provide more control and safety mechanisms for deployment processes in AWS CodePipeline, allowing developers to implement more robust release management strategies.
