AWS CodePipeline supports invoking pipeline execution with a new action type
News
AWS CodePipeline has introduced a new native action type that enables direct pipeline-to-pipeline invocation, streamlining workflow automation and inter-pipeline communication.
- New CodePipeline Invoke action allows direct triggering of downstream pipelines
- Eliminates previous workarounds like using CodeBuild or custom shell commands
- Enables passing pipeline variables and source revisions between pipelines
- Supports cross-account pipeline triggering
- Useful for scenarios like passing Docker image digests between build and deployment pipelines
- Available in most AWS regions, excluding GovCloud and China regions
This feature simplifies pipeline orchestration and reduces complexity in multi-stage continuous delivery workflows.
