Amazon Nova has expanded Tool Choice parameter options for the Converse API, providing developers with more control over model interactions with tools.
- Three tool choice modes are now available: Auto, Any, and Tool
- Auto mode allows Nova to decide whether to call a tool or generate text automatically
- Any mode requires Nova to return at least one tool call from specified tools
- Tool mode enables developers to request a specific tool to be used
- Useful for creating sophisticated conversational applications and machine-to-machine interactions
