AWS announces OR2 and OM2 instances for Amazon OpenSearch Service

AWS has announced two new instances, OR2 and OM2, for Amazon OpenSearch Service, expanding the OpenSearch Optimized Instance family.
- OR2 instances offer up to 26% higher indexing throughput compared to OR1 instances
- OM2 instances provide up to 15% higher indexing throughput than OR1 instances
- Instances use cloud technologies like Amazon S3 for high durability and improved performance
- Pricing options include pay-as-you-go and reserved instances
- OR2 sizes range from 'medium' to '16xlarge'
- OM2 sizes range from 'large' to '16xlarge'
OR2 is available in 10 regions globally, while OM2 is available in 6 regions, primarily in the US and Europe.
