News

Amazon EC2 has enhanced its network performance by removing bandwidth limitations for inter-region and AWS Direct Connect traffic.

  • Full instance bandwidth now supported for inter-region VPC peering traffic
  • Full instance bandwidth available for AWS Direct Connect connections
  • Jumbo frames now supported up to 8500 Bytes for cross-region VPC peering
  • Previously limited to 50% of aggregate bandwidth or 5 Gbps
  • No additional configuration required by customers

The update enables faster data transfers between regions and to on-premises networks, improving network performance for EC2 users across all commercial, GovCloud, and China regions.
