Amazon EC2 instances support bandwidth configurations for VPC and EBS

News

AWS has announced the general availability of Instance Bandwidth Configurations (IBC) for 8th generation Graviton-based EC2 instances, offering customers more flexibility in bandwidth resource allocation.

  • Customers can adjust VPC and EBS service bandwidth by up to 25%
  • Increasing bandwidth for one service reduces bandwidth for the other
  • Does not increase burst bandwidth, packets per second, or IOPS capabilities
  • Available for C8g, M8g, R8g, and X8g instance platforms
  • Supports improved performance for storage, data analytics, and database workloads
  • Available in all AWS commercial regions at no additional cost

IBC provides users with greater control over bandwidth resources, allowing more tailored performance optimization for different types of workloads.
