Containers Blog
Amazon EKS has launched a new community add-ons catalog that simplifies Kubernetes cluster management by providing native AWS integration for popular open-source tools.
- Offers streamlined installation of community add-ons through EKS console, AWS CLI, SDK, and IaC tools
- Initial catalog includes five key add-ons:
- Metrics-server: Collects CPU and memory usage
- Kube-state-metrics: Generates metrics about Kubernetes objects
- Prometheus-node-exporter: Collects host system metrics
- Cert-manager: Automates TLS certificate management
- External-dns: Synchronizes Kubernetes services with DNS providers
- Provides version compatibility, update management, and lifecycle support
- Allows configuration through EKS Pod Identity or IAM roles for service accounts
Users can now easily add and manage community add-ons with native AWS tooling, reducing operational complexity.
