Enhanced Network Security Control: Flow Management with AWS Network Firewall

Security Blog

AWS Network Firewall introduces new flow capture and flow flush features to enhance network security control and visibility:

  • Flow capture provides a snapshot of active network flows for monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Flow flush allows selective termination of specific or all network flows
  • Enables quick policy updates and response to security incidents
  • Features accessible via AWS Management Console and Network Firewall API
  • Supports both IPv4 and IPv6 flows with no additional cost

Key capabilities include identifying active flows, filtering based on network parameters (IP, port, protocol), and re-evaluating network connections after flushing. These features provide more granular control and visibility into network traffic within AWS environments.
