Amazon CloudFront has introduced Anycast Static IPs support for apex domains, offering a significant improvement in domain configuration and content delivery.

  • Provides 3 static IP addresses for apex domain configuration, reduced from previous 21
  • Allows direct A record configuration for root domains (e.g., example.com)
  • Eliminates previous CNAME record limitations for apex domains
  • Enables customers to maintain existing DNS infrastructure
  • Supports Anycast routing for optimal edge location traffic direction

The new feature simplifies DNS management, improves global content delivery performance, and provides easier configuration for CloudFront distributions.
