Amazon Cloudfront adds IPv6 support for Anycast Static IPs

Amazon CloudFront has expanded its Anycast Static IP support to include both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, offering customers enhanced networking capabilities.

  • Previously limited to IPv4, the service now provides dual-stack IPv4 and IPv6 addressing
  • Supports IPv6 addresses across all edge locations, except AWS China regions
  • Helps customers meet IPv6 compliance requirements
  • Enables serving end users on IPv6-only networks
  • Future-proofs infrastructure with expanded IP address support

This update allows CloudFront customers to have more flexible and modern IP addressing options for their content delivery networks.
