Amazon Verified Permissions now supports policy store deletion protection
News
Amazon Verified Permissions now offers policy store deletion protection, a new feature to enhance application security and prevent accidental deletions.
- Deletion protection prevents policy stores from being deleted by any user
- Active by default for new policy stores created in AWS Console
- Can be activated/deactivated via Console, CLI, and API
- Requires explicit deactivation before policy store deletion
The feature uses Cedar, an open-source policy language, to provide granular, context-aware access control for applications. It helps ensure the resilience of production policy stores during deployments.
