Amazon Q Developer releases state of the art agent for feature development

AWS has announced an advanced update to the Amazon Q Developer software development agent with significant improvements in feature development capabilities.
- Achieved top performance on SWTBench Verified (49%) and SWEBench Verified (66%) industry benchmarks
- Equipped with advanced planning and reasoning tools for generating multiple solution candidates
- Operates in a dedicated environment with full IDE functionality
- Can select the most promising code solution and provide higher quality suggestions
- Aims to accelerate development team velocity and reduce debugging time
Developers can access the new agent by typing '/dev' in the Q chat window within Visual Studio Code or JetBrains IDE after installing the Amazon Q Developer plugin. The update is available in all AWS Regions supporting Amazon Q.
