Amazon Redshift has introduced Serverless Reservations, a new discounted pricing option for Amazon Redshift Serverless that helps customers save on analytics workload costs.
- Offers up to 24% discount on compute costs
- Two payment options available:
- No-upfront option with 20% discount
- All-upfront option with 24% discount
- Commit to a specific number of Redshift Processing Units (RPUs) for one year
- Managed at AWS payer account level and can be shared between multiple accounts
- Billed hourly and metered per second
- Any usage above reserved RPUs charged at standard on-demand rates
Customers can purchase Serverless Reservations through the Amazon Redshift console or API, providing more cost predictability for analytics workloads.
