Amazon has announced enhanced EBS performance for EC2 High Memory U7i instances, designed to improve storage performance for memory-intensive workloads.
- U7i instances now support up to 560,000 IOPS and 100 Gbps of EBS-optimized bandwidth
- Recommended to use io2 Block Express volumes for maximum IOPS performance
- Targets database workloads like SAP HANA, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server
- Performance upgrade is available at no additional cost
- Existing instances can enable performance by stopping and starting
- Improvement is available in all regions with U7i instances
