AWS has announced the general availability of second-generation Outposts racks, specifically designed to help communication service providers (CSPs) modernize their 5G networks with high-performance infrastructure.
- New bmn-cx2 bare metal instances offer up to 192 vCPUs, 1536 GiB memory, and 800 Gbps network bandwidth
- Supports specialized network accelerator cards for latency-sensitive telecom workloads
- Enables multiple deployment architectures across AWS Regions, Local Zones, and on-premises environments
- Supports various telecom scenarios like hybrid packet core, disaster recovery, and edge computing
- Integrates with AWS services like Telco Network Builder, Amazon EKS, and observability tools
The new Outposts racks help CSPs address deployment complexity, meet performance requirements, and modernize their network infrastructure using consistent AWS services and APIs.
