AWS Systems Manager introduces new customization options for onboarding configuration, providing more flexibility for users managing EC2 instances across accounts and regions.
- Users can now customize EC2 instance permissions for Systems Manager connectivity
- Ability to set frequency of inventory metadata collection
- Option to define SSM Agent automatic update intervals
- Uses Default Host Management Configuration (DHMC) to simplify permission management
- Allows opt-out of default permissions for self-managed policies
These new features enable more granular control over Systems Manager settings, supporting various operational requirements and infrastructure management approaches.
