AWS CodePipeline now supports Deploy Spec file in EC2 deploy action

News

AWS CodePipeline has introduced two significant improvements to its EC2 Deploy action:

  • Support for Deploy Spec file configurations in source repositories
  • Accepts YAML-formatted Deploy Spec files
  • Compatible with existing CodeDeploy AppSpec files
  • Enhanced deployment debugging for large-scale EC2 deployments
  • New real-time status monitoring interface for individual EC2 instances

The new features simplify deployment configuration and improve troubleshooting by providing more granular instance-level status tracking, making it easier to identify and resolve deployment issues across multiple EC2 instances.
