Amazon FSx for Lustre has introduced a new Intelligent-Tiering storage class with significant benefits for high-performance computing and AI workloads:
- Delivers virtually unlimited scalability and fully elastic Lustre storage
- Offers up to 34% better price-performance compared to on-premises HDD storage
- Automatically scales storage up or down based on access patterns
- Provides automatic tiering between Frequent Access, Infrequent Access, and Archive tiers
- Supports optional SSD read cache for latency-sensitive workloads
- Optimized for compute-intensive tasks like weather forecasting, seismic imaging, and genomic analysis
The new storage class eliminates overprovisioning and offers cost-effective, flexible file storage for demanding data-intensive applications.
