AWS has launched the new Asia Pacific (Taipei) Region, marking its fifteenth region in the Asia Pacific area and expanding AWS's global infrastructure to 117 Availability Zones across 37 geographic regions.
- The Region has three Availability Zones with the code `ap-east-2`
- Enables local data residency for Taiwan-based organizations
- Supports industries like finance, healthcare, manufacturing, and technology
- Provides low-latency infrastructure for local businesses
- Helps organizations meet data compliance and localization requirements
Key customers like Cathay Financial Holdings, Gamania Group, and Chunghwa Telecom have already expressed support for the new region, highlighting its potential to accelerate digital transformation and innovation in Taiwan.
