Amazon Cognito has introduced AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF) support for Managed Login, offering enhanced security for user authentication endpoints.

  • Provides protection against malicious requests and web-based attacks
  • Allows customers to define rules for rate limiting and traffic control
  • Enables visibility into web traffic for Cognito user pools
  • Offers capability to block or allow traffic based on security requirements
  • Helps optimize costs by controlling bot traffic

The feature is available in Cognito Essentials and Plus tiers across all AWS Regions where Cognito is supported, with standard AWS WAF pricing applying to request inspections.
