Introducing AWS Glue Data Catalog usage metrics for API usage

AWS has introduced new usage metrics for AWS Glue Data Catalog, providing native integration with Amazon CloudWatch to enhance monitoring and observability of data catalog API usage.

  • Enables monitoring of API call patterns at 1-minute intervals
  • Allows proactive service quota increase requests
  • Supports CloudWatch anomaly detection for identifying unusual API usage
  • Covers more than 50 different APIs
  • Provides detailed metrics through CloudWatch, including CallCount measurements

Key features include the ability to create custom dashboards, set up alarms, and monitor API usage across different statistical methods. This enhancement helps organizations improve their data infrastructure monitoring and proactively manage their lakehouse deployments.
