AWS has announced Amazon EBS gp3 volumes support for second-generation AWS Outposts racks, offering enhanced storage performance for on-premises workloads.
- gp3 volumes provide baseline performance of 3,000 IOPS and 125 MB/s at any volume size
- Can scale up to 16,000 IOPS and 1,000 MB/s, 4x faster than previous gp2 volumes
- Ideal for performance-intensive applications like MySQL, Cassandra, and Hadoop
- Supports latest x86 EC2 instances: C7i, M7i, and R7i with improved performance
- Manageable via AWS Management Console, CLI, and SDKs
The update enables more flexible and powerful storage options for hybrid cloud environments using AWS Outposts racks.
