Amazon EBS has expanded its support for gp3 and io1 volumes in AWS Dedicated Local Zones, providing enhanced storage solutions for customers with specific data isolation and residency requirements.
- Dedicated Local Zones are fully managed AWS infrastructure designed for exclusive use
- gp3 volumes offer performance provisioning independent of storage capacity
- Provides up to 20% lower price per GB compared to gp2 volumes
- io1 volumes are optimized for I/O-intensive and latency-sensitive workloads like databases
- Volumes can be managed via AWS Management Console, CLI, or AWS SDKs
The expansion enables customers to store and manage data in specific locations while meeting regulatory and performance requirements.
